SEED Program Guest Speaker Bio…

Remember Shlomo & Peryl Agishtein?

Well, Peryl’s PARENTS are coming!

Peryl’s father, Rabbi Yaakov Grossman, has been a rabbi for the last 35 years. He is a Torah scholar of the highest calibre and also an outdoorsman. Rabbi Yaakov has enjoyed traveling to various locations during the last 15 years to both teach Torah and to hike and camp in the great outdoors surrounding these beautiful locations. This year, Santa Fe is honored to host him. Our summer SEED program is an opportunity to delve into topics in machshava, Jewish philosophy. See Rabbi Grossman’s class offerings (details coming soon!) and schedule in this email.

Peryl’s mother, Rebbetzin Rashi Grossman, taught in public schools in the Bronx and in Queens for over thirty years, and has taught 10,000 or so students. Rashi is confident that the vast majority of her mostly non-Jewish public school students did learn many Jewish values of integrity, kindness and tolerance along the way, as her classes strove to analyze the novels Rashi had chosen to teach in her classroom. Additionally, over the past 20 years, Rashi has been the general studies principal in Yeshiva Ketana of Queens, a K-8 school where general studies subjects are emphasized as well as Jewish studies.

The Grossmans have raised their eight children to embrace Torah learning and teaching, and to share that love wherever they go. We are so lucky to host them this summer!
